Mairead has always been passionate about birth and newborns but her desire to help women grew following the births of her three young daughters. In 2018 she trained as a birth and postpartum doula with DONA International.
She believes that giving birth should be a positive experience for every woman in which they feel safe, cared for and listened to, whether giving birth at hospital or at home. Her aim is to support, inform and nurture you through pregnancy, labour and life with your new baby or babies.
She loves supporting women during the fourth trimester as this is a time of transition for the new mother and the rest of the family. Mairéad aims to support by providing evidence based information on normal newborn behaviours, cooking meals, doing light household duties and lending an unbiased listening ear!
She has a special interest in supporting parents who are expecting or have newborn twins and multiples: supporting at their births, helping to prepare their homes and their lives for the new arrivals and learning how to thrive (not just survive) in the first few months.
