Hi, I’m Lorraine. A native to Wexford but a world nomad after living abroad and travelling for almost 12 years. I’m a fertility, birth and postnatal doula with a passion for all things reproduction and beyond.

Growing up as part of quite a large extended family, where there was a new baby born almost every couple of months, I guess I was always destined to enter the reproductive world. I saw the ups and downs, I saw the anxiety and the bliss. I helped my aunts, mother and cousins from an early age, ensuring they had breaks while I entertained the kids, went to chat to them; knowing that it must have been quite lonely being at home all day with only a tiny human or two to talk to. I was always there with a smile, some fun stories, and as a helping hand.

It wasn’t until I had my own kids that I realised just how isolating and lonely becoming a parent can be. I didn’t know how much care and support was lacking in the reproductive world. I began blogging about my experience after the birth of my first daughter and had quite the response which furthered my understanding of how challenging becoming a parent can be.

After suffering from trauma on my first and anxiety after my second, I knew I needed to leave the career I had been in for over 10 years; teaching. My heart was somewhere else but I wasn’t quite sure exactly where until I began to research more and more. I wasn’t looking for long until I found my passion again and that’s when I signed up to train as a doula. I soon became addicted to this wonderful reproductive world and

everything related and further trained in childbirth education, breastfeeding education, VBAC, and perinatal trauma.

I am constantly enrolling in new trainings and professional development so that I am armed to help and support you as much as I can in the areas which are most valuable to you.

I feel so honoured to support families of all shapes and sizes. Watching people and families grow and become more and more confident in themselves and their abilities is beyond beautiful and something I cannot ever see myself getting tired of.

Each and every client is unique to me and no support is the same as the other. Having travelled and taught in many countries for a number of years before taking on this role, I come equipped with knowledge and experience which gives me the ability to adapt to different environments, various situations, and people from all walks of life.

When I’m not doula-ing, you can find me messing around and acting like a big child with my young kiddos. They bring life to my everyday … while simultaneously exhausting me to death. I love music, comedies, a good chat with friends, being close to but not in the water (unless washing myself of course), hanging out and reminiscing with my hubby, and the occasional glass of red.
